How much does it cost?Every Surface Prints project is unique, and final costs depend on several factors including desired print quality, surface type, design complexity, preparation needs, and location. Our goal is to keep pricing clear and easy to understand. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and recommend one of the following print quality options: Budget Printing – Perfect for large murals, distant viewing, or simple graphics. Printed at 150 DPI, this option uses less ink and is ideal for covering large surfaces at a lower cost. Slight soft lines from printhead overlap may be visible up close but disappear just a few feet away—making it a great value for high-impact scale at budget-friendly pricing. Matchless Printing – Designed for vibrant color and clarity with reduced horizontal lines. This is an excellent choice for logos, photographs, vector graphics, branding, and text. With balanced ink usage and sharp results, Matchless Printing offers the perfect blend of quality and affordability for most designs. Print Excellence – With over eight times the ink coverage of the Budget package, this premium option delivers stunning vibrancy, fine detail, and exceptional color reproduction. It's the top choice for printing on most surfaces when excellence is non-negotiable. Already have a design? Great! There’s no additional cost — we’ll print exactly what you provide. Need custom artwork? If you need help creating a mural, logo, or other custom graphics, design fees will apply. We’ll provide a quote before any work begins. Wall prep needed? If your wall requires prep such as repair, base painting, or removal of old materials, we can handle it ourselves or connect you with a trusted local contractor. Outdoor prints? We offer an optional UV-protective clear coating to help your exterior print withstand the elements and retain its vibrancy longer.

Does the Wall Need to Be a Specific Color? Not at all! We can work with virtually any wall color. If you'd like to incorporate the existing wall color into your design, we’ll integrate it seamlessly. Prefer a clean, vibrant look? We can apply a layer of white ink as a base before printing, even on black or dark-colored walls. While white or light-colored surfaces provide the most vibrant results, our technology allows us to print on nearly any background with stunning clarity.

What limitations are there on print size?Height: The print height is flexible and can be extended in 4-inch (10 cm) increments. Minimum ceiling height required:5 ft 6 in (1.7 m) Maximum print height: up to 13 ft (4 m) Width: Unlimited! As long as there are no obstructions, our printers can print an entire surface, end to end. Print Margins: Bottom & Top: ~10–13 inches from the floor/ceiling Side Walls: ~20-inch margin from adjacent walls for full-width prints Open Hallways or Single-Wall Prints: Only a 3-inch margin is needed
-
Does the print go edge-to-edge or corner-to-corner?Due to the printer’s track system and print head positioning, full edge-to-edge coverage isn’t possible. Here’s what to expect: Floor & Ceiling Margins: About 13 inches from both. Side Margins: Wall-to-Wall Prints: ~20 inches from adjacent walls. Open Hallways or Single-Wall Prints: Only a 3-inch margin is needed.

Which motifs can be printed? You can print virtually any graphic, sketch, image, logo, or text! AI, EPS, TIF, PNG, JPG, and BMP files are generally no problem. If the design needs tweaks, we use software like Photoshop, GIMP, or Affinity Photo to make quick and easy modifications. Even very small text and colored logos near doors or in hallways are totally possible. Printing paper artwork is simple! Just scan it using a flatbed scanner at the highest resolution — the results make for fantastic wall prints. Customers have successfully printed old originals, maps, drawings, postcards, sketches, photos, and paintings — with exceptional results. If we can load your vision into our printer software, we’re confident we can bring it to life beautifully.
-
What is the dry time on the ink?Immediately! Our UV-curing process ensures that the ink dries the moment it’s printed, meaning you can touch the design right away.
-
Can a wall print be removed and reprinted?Absolutely! Whether you want a fresh design or just decided to go back to a blank wall, the print can be removed using the following methods. Walls: Simply paint over the design with 2–3 layers of paint. Wood, Metal, or Concrete: Requires sanding, sandblasting, or glass bead blasting for removal. Glass: Use a ceramic hob scraper or razor blade.
-
What colors of ink do you use?Our printers are capable of printing in CMYKW — Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, and White — for printing on darker surfaces where a white underlay may be needed.
-
Can you print on outdoor walls or surfaces?Yes, prints can be applied outdoors! To protect the life of outdoor prints against fading, weather, and graffiti, we highly recommend applying a UV-protectant coating. 🛠 With our UV protection and sealing service, your printing is expected to last for up to 10 years!
-
How long does the printing process take?We come to your on-site location and can complete a project Freaky Fast! Time may vary based on the number of passes, complexity, and set up. Print speed: 1 to 3 hours per 40 – 50 square feet of printing. Preparation is key … measure … measure… measure … inspect … inspect … measure …. Measure … Go Print!
-
Can the printer compensate for unevenness in the floor and wall?Yes, there is a leveling system in the rear axis that compensates for surface unevenness in the floor. In addition, laser sensors are installed that detect wall unevenness of up to 10 cm (3.3") in real time. The print head thus moves continuously and automatically back and forth depending on the wall surface. How Durable is the Printed Result? Prints are UV-resistant, scratch-resistant, and durable. While the technology is still a bit new, we expect our ink will retain its color for at least 12 years indoors. Outdoors, the UV resistance is 2 years unprotected but can be extended to more than 5 years by applying a transparent UV coating. In general, the ink is immediately dry and scratch resistant immediately after printing.
